Arabicity

Published to accompany an exhibition by Rose Issa Projects at the Beirut Exhibition Center in Lebanon, “Arabicity” features the
work of nine contemporary artists from the Arab world: Basel Abbas & Ruanne Abou-Rahme, Buthayna Ali, Chant Avedissian, Ayman Baalbaki, Hassan Hajjaj, Fathi Hassan, Susan Hefuna, and Raeda Saadeh.

These very different artists explore
their cultural heritage and express what they find in unique and varied ways. Through video art, painting, photography and installation, “Arabicity” presents their conceptual and aesthetic concerns, executed with warmth, humour and visual poetry.
